I have a thing for teepees. In fact my one wish, after having my own rollerskating rink, is to have a huge teepee on our farm. Unfortunately, a teepee may not be practical with the Seattle rainfall, but a mama can dream.
Pinterest is full of BIY (buy it yourself) and DIY teepees, and I am determined to make one for Sylvie this winter. Here are some of the ones I like best:

Painted teepee from You are the River.
Rowan’s teepee DIY
(FYI: Rowan is one of my favorite names and might have been Sylvie’s name if I hadn’t have just known she was a Sylvie.)
Love the pattern on this teepee built by Varpunen.

I’ve recently become obsessed with teepees too! There’s no space in our small house on our small city lot, but we’re considering moving to Vashon Island and getting a bit of land – and a teepee is one of the things I’m most excited about! How silly is that?
When I was a kid, friends of my parents bought some land in Poulsbo and erected a teepee that they lived in (with their 2 kids) for the next 2 years while they built their house themselves. Theirs did just fine in the Seattle rain (it’s still standing, in fact, used as guest quarters when people come to visit), so I’m confident that your farm teepee fantasy can come true!
We live very close to Vashon, and when you have the land, you need the teepee! The friends of your parents sound amazing. I am so inspired that they made it work. You’re right. It can come true.
